All Signs of a Panic Attack,

Tales from the pandemic: I woke up inside a panic attack, a first for me. In my dream I was kayaking, backwards, away from an armed dude in a helicopter, staring into his crosshairs. This was the tail end of a long action movie of a dream. I came to in bed, freezing, heart hammering, gasping for air, but in this crazy way where not only my lungs emptied but my entire body felt like it was collapsing in on itself. I thought maybe I really was dying. Had to steal some body heat from my husband, but eventually everything leveled back out. Our bodies speak stress in such strange ways.
